In February 2017, land was purchased in Pando Industrial Park to build Uruguay’s first clean chlorine plant.

The plant became operational in December 2017. The plant initiated production with one of its two electrolyzers producing sodium hypochlorite “hypo” and began operating its hydrochloric acid “HCl” unit and second electrolyzer in early January 2018.
